Painting: West Side of Manhattan

Whispering Lake is in progress on an initial studio release! The band has been hard at work in the studio putting the finishing touches on the new album’s tracks, chronicling their life in Astoria, Queens, and points beyond. In October 2025, during a retreat at an 1880s Victorian house in the mountains of Maryland, we literally took these tracks to the woodshed.

The album has been 3 years in the making, as these tracks have taken form through workshops, song circles, and retreats across the U.S., in Spain, and in the Dominican Republic.

Our bandleader, a visual artist as well, painted the cover art for this album release, working in acrylic on canvas.

Our rock collaboration under the Impossible Bookings moniker produced a track released on Save KDHX: The Album. The compilation, out on Rubberstamp Records, benefits The LOVE of KDHX, a nonprofit supporting efforts to address the management of St. Louis nonprofit indie station KDHX-FM.

Check out track 17, “Don’t Know What It Is (About KDHX),” a protest song that’s a bit of a lo-fi indie slow burn. The song is a tribute to several DJs formerly on KDHX-FM’s roster who shaped our tastes.
